My new year's resolution for 2007 was to lose weight, and I'm proud to say that this was one year where I stuck to my goal: I lost forty pounds, and I feel great! (Stay tuned for a future post about how I shed the weight.)
At the beginning of the winter season, I pulled my sweaters out of storage to find that they were almost all too big for me. My side of the closet was filled with large and extra-large shirts and jackets that did not fit my new medium-sized body. Still, I was in denial. I'm very particular about my clothes, as Kathryn can attest. I enjoy owning quality garments, and liquidating my closet of fine sweaters and shirts purchased one season ago was hard to come to terms with.
My tiny Manhattan closet is busting at the seams, and I'm forced to take action. I've taken my favorites to the tailor for alteration, and boxed up some of the lower-end pieces for donation. The rest, I'm taking to a consignment store... unless you're interested in any of it?

I'm sadly at the other end of the scale. After bringing my weight down over 2005 I then briefly dated a cheesemonger who reminded me of the glories of dairy products. Then I faded out (temporarily!) from my walking project and began eating out more and drinking more cocktails. Ah the calories pile up.
So 2008 will involve becoming more active and being more selective in where I allocate my intake. At the least, more sushi dinners and less croque monsieur.
Looking forward to your tips. Did the shoes/iPod thing really wind up helping?
